A delightful and magical holiday treat that brings you the music of Mr. Frank Sinatra.GARLAND CIVIC THEATRE SCHEDULES "CHRISTMAS MY WAY" AUDITIONS Garland, Texas, August 26, 2009 — Garland Civic Theatre will hold auditions for "Christmas My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra" on September 19 and 20, 2009. Audition appointments which are open to singers ages 18 to 65 can be made by calling 972-485-8884. Auditioners need to be prepared to sing from two songs, a ballad and an upbeat Broadway tune or if you prefer one of the songs made famous by Mr. Sinatra. All roles require singing and some dancing. Bring sheet music for your audition pieces, a headshot and resume. There four roles for this production consisting of 2 couples, one younger (18 to 35) and one older (40 to 65). The older man should have a velvety baritone voice and must sing close harmony and lead to ensemble. The younger man should sing in the style of a "Big Band" crooner with a lyric baritone voice. The older woman should be classy and sophisticated with a strong mezzo soprano voice. The younger woman should be youthful and energetic, a "Big Band" singer. She must be a strong dancer. Everyone auditioning must sing with the piano accompanist that is provided. Cold readings from the script and dance auditions will be at the callbacks. Callbacks are scheduled for the evening of September 20th. This is a delightful and magical holiday treat that brings you the music of Mr. Frank Sinatra including "Winter Wonderland", "Silver Bells", New York, New York:, "Fly Me to the Moon", and "Night and Day". A memory packed evening of song, dance and music that "sparked" Sinatra's early rise to fame! The production was conceived by David Grapes and Todd Olson with the book by Todd Olson. The music is by various artists with piano and vocal arrangements by Vince di Mura. Performances are scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, November 12 to December 5, 2009 at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland. Kyle McClaran is directing the production, the music director is Pam Holcomb-McLain, and the choreographer is Todd Aragon. Garland Civic Theatre, a member of Garland Chamber of Commerce and Texas Non-profit Theatres, is bringing you its forty-second season of great theater in Garland, Texas.
