To the delight of fans everywhere, this popular British television comedy is now a stage show that revels in nonstop double entendres.

Garland, Texas, March 26, 2008 -- Garland Civic Theatre continues the celebration of its 40th season with a production of "Are You Being Served" by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft. Final performances will be Thursday thru Saturday March 27 - 29, 2008 at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland. Tickets which are $18 to $20 with discounts for youth, seniors, and groups can be ordered by calling 972-205-2790. The box office opens 2 hours before each performance. Ride DART to the theatre or show your KERA member card and get a discount on your ticket. The last performance at 8:00 PM on March 29th has been designated as KERA night. The winner of the raffle which includes many souvenirs from KERA's British comedy line up will be revealed at this performance.

Garland audiences are having the time of their lives at this British television comedy turned stage show that revels in nonstop double entendres. When the motley crew of the Grace Brothers department store prepare for a sale of German goods and then depart for a staff holiday in Spain, they survive their stay in the tropics at a one-star establishment and their encounters with the locals makes for one of the most hilarious evenings of theatre to be found!

Included in the cast are Susan McMath Platt and Mrs. Slocombe, Stefanie Darrah as Miss Brahms, Nick Haley as Mr. Lucas, Jon Morehouse as Mr. Humphries, Reg Platt as Mr. Grainger, Ben Westfried as Captain Peacock, and Jim Welch as Mr. Rumbold. Others in the cast, Elaine Erback, Jackie L. Kemp, Paul MacKenzie, and Lindsey Petropoulos, will play multiple roles. Linda Ewing has directed the production and Wade Giampa designed the set.

Garland Civic Theatre, a member of Garland Chamber of Commerce and Texas Non-profit Theatres, is celebrating its 40th season of theatre in Garland.
