The Odd Couple (female version)

Garland Civic Theatre continues its "Six Sides of Simon" season with a production of The Odd Couple (Female Version) which previews at 8:00 p.m. April 22, 2004. The show will open on April 23, and continue with performances April 24, 29, 30, May 1, 6, 7, and 8 at 8:00 p.m. and April 30, May 1, 8 and 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the small theatre of the Granville Arts Center, Fifth and Austin Streets in downtown Garland.

Olive Madison, the producer of a primetime news program, and her girl friends meet for a weekly game of Trivial Pursuit. One of the girls, Florence Unger, is missing when the show begins. She finally appears to report that her husband, Sidney, wants a divorce. Olive invites Florence to share her apartment. She needs someone to cook and clean, but cannot find a maid that will agree to tackle the job; Olive is somewhat of a slob. They soon discover the misery of living together and audiences are delighted by the fun of it all.

Kyle McClaran directs The Odd Couple (Female Version). The set designer is Theresa A. Clapper and the costumes are by John Carroll. The outstanding cast includes Tammy Labude, Cindy Kahn, Ruth Ellen Heaton, Heather Linsley, Nancy Roberts, Amy Marquez, Elias Taylorson, and Jose Cangas.
