Because of his special love for animals, Doctor Dolittle becomes an animal doctor. The animals are thrilled and teach him how to talk with them. Enter this enchanting world and join in with the animals and their doctor as this unique communication leads to a series of exciting adventures.

GARLAND, TEXAS -- Garland Civic Theatre's Children On Stage division has announced auditions for Doctor Dolittle, a play based on the book by Hugh Lofting by Olga Fricker. Auditions are set for 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. September 9 and 10, 2006 at 108 North Sixth Street in downtown Garland. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Donna Covington, the director, will begin rehearsals on September 18, 2006. School performances will be November 2 - 3 with public performances on November 4 and 5 in the main theatre at Granville Arts Center, Austin and Fifth Street, Garland, Texas. Teachers can reserve space for field trips on the website. Tickets for the public performances can be purchased at the Arts Center Box Office by calling 972-205-2790.

Garland Civic Theatre, a member of Dallas Theatre League, and Texas Non-profit Theatres, is enjoying its 39th season of theatre in Garland. The Children On Stage program is in its 24th year.
